Moving Stories Celebrates the 2012-2013 Season

I had the pleasure of attending the Moving Stories garden party on Sunday to celebrate their achievements over their 2012-2013 season. Moving Stories is a theatre company that aims to awaken the senses and stimulate the emotions by creating bold, ambitious and beautiful work for both theatres and unusual locations and sites. They have just enjoyed a very exciting season of work, which included Vanessa and Virginia at the Riverside Studios in London, which has been nominated for five Off West End Awards. This time last year I was composing a 1920s inspired score for their production of Twelfth Night at The Minack Theatre which went on to win the Minack Trophy in 2012. I am looking forward to working with Moving Stories again on future projects.

Caucasian Chalk Circle

I will be creating a new score for Bruiser Theatre Company’s Autumn show Brecht’s Caucasian Chalk Circle.

More information soon.

Santa Claus The Musical

I will be working with Paul Holman Associates again this Christmas on Santa Claus The Musical at the Pavilion Theatre in Worthing. The blurb promises dancing penguins, prancing polar bears and chorusing crows and an adventure as we discover who truly believes in Santa! The musical stars CLAIRE SWEENEY as the Ice Queen and includes classic Christmas hits such as ‘Here Comes Santa Claus’, ‘Jingle Bell Rock’, ‘Frosty the Snowman’ and ‘Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer’. I’m looking forward to getting started on the arrangements for the band.

Guys and Dolls

I am currently working on orchestrations for Guys and Dolls which is being presented by ATG Stage Experience and The Regent Academy at The Regent Theatre in Stoke-On-Trent next month.

Based on Damon Runyan’s short stories featuring classic songs such as ‘Sit Down, You’re Rockin The Boat’, ‘Luck Be A Lady’ and ‘Take Back Your Mink’, this brand new production promises to be the ultimate treat for the whole family.

Bruiser Summer Theatre School

I was pleased to return to Belfast to work on Bruiser Theatre Company’s Summer Theatre School this week. I worked alongside Bruiser’s Artistic Director LISA MAY.

Well done to all the participants for throwing themselves into the work. During the two days I was there we looked at several songs, including the opening of Urinetown, which will form part of their showcase later in the week.
